About Me

A little bit about me.....I grew up in North Bellmore, LI, NY . In 1976 I moved in with Cookie, the love of my life. We moved together to Moncure, NC in 2004. That is when I retired from my profession as a Dental Hygienist. Cookie passed on in 2009 and I needed to go forth with my life. I decided to do some traveling. I went to India with my longtime BFAAF Susan, went to Africa with my awesome friends Judy and Mike and my drum group, went to Alaska, again with Judy. I have been to Aruba numerous times with my great friends Susan and Steven. During all this traveling I hated to leave my furry 4 legged children alone. So, I decided to buy a travel trailer. At this writing I am on my 3rd travel trailer and love it. It is a 33 foot Evergreen Everlite that I pull with my 2015 Ford 250 King Ranch Super Duty. I have been snowbirding for the last 4 years in Sarasota, FL at an RV resort there.

Ouray and it's magnificence!

Ouray is a beautiful area! So much to see and do. Unfortunately the campground screwed up my reservation. They only booked me for two nights instead of 3. I was in a KOA that was magnificent. Could have stayed there for a week. Therefore, I had a lot to do in a couple of days. Gotta say I did get to do most! The best was the jeep tour ride I did through the Corkscrew Pass in the mountains on a trail, no real road. It was an exhilarating 4 1/2 hour ride in a 6  seater keep. There were only two other people which made the ride all the more personal. It was quite was fantastic. He stopped in so many places to show us things and explain how all of this occurred. The people of CO are real serious about their biking, camping and off roading. I have never seen 4 wheelers like I did that day. They come in their trucks towing the 4 wheelers, huge things, and then go on the trails. Really amazing! Hope you can see by the pictures that there is no guardrail and no room between you and the fall off. When the driver had to back up on some of the switchbacks your heart
was in your mouth! I think this was the most amazing thing I have ever done!

Then I went to Cascade Falls, not far from town.  I actually hiked again, don't know where I get the strength or ability but I did. Again didnt make it to the top but pretty far. People actually hiked to the top and stood under the falls. One couple brought their dog and carried him/ her part of the way!

Next stop was Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. Also, amazing! Senior accesss pass again paid off, saved $15 entrance fee! You drive through and around the whole canyon, miles and miles. There are approximately 12 scenic stops. At all the stops you can then hike into a trail. I couldn't hike anymore than 2 or 3. Asher was with me and had a ball climbing on the rocks! Of course.....another amazing sight!

Hope I am not boring anyone. I have sooooooo many pictures and can only post so many! Here are just a few more beauties!
