About Me

A little bit about me.....I grew up in North Bellmore, LI, NY . In 1976 I moved in with Cookie, the love of my life. We moved together to Moncure, NC in 2004. That is when I retired from my profession as a Dental Hygienist. Cookie passed on in 2009 and I needed to go forth with my life. I decided to do some traveling. I went to India with my longtime BFAAF Susan, went to Africa with my awesome friends Judy and Mike and my drum group, went to Alaska, again with Judy. I have been to Aruba numerous times with my great friends Susan and Steven. During all this traveling I hated to leave my furry 4 legged children alone. So, I decided to buy a travel trailer. At this writing I am on my 3rd travel trailer and love it. It is a 33 foot Evergreen Everlite that I pull with my 2015 Ford 250 King Ranch Super Duty. I have been snowbirding for the last 4 years in Sarasota, FL at an RV resort there.

Breathtaking!

Well, got up on Saturday and surprisingly felt fine! Asher and I went to historical Basalt and walked around. Then to the Ruedi   am. What a beautiful drive along the Colorado River. I just can't stop taking pictures of the mountains and the water. Each and every one is more beautiful than the next! Stopped at many overlooks and roads off the beaten path to watch the people fly fishing and whitewater rafting.

Today, Saturday got a slow and late start! Oh well, no biggie. Drove into Glenwood Springs and walked around the town. Lots of little shops and had lunch at a little cafe. I then went to the Iron Mountain Hot Springs! It was recommended to go to that one instead of the Glenwood Hot Springs. Glenwood has lots of kids and is attached to an amusement park, which you take a gondola to at the top of the mountain. Would like to have done that but got too late a start. The Hot Springs was wonderful! Interestingly there are about 6 Springs that make up this particular Hot Springs. The water comes in at about 118 degrees. They then cool the water for the different pools. There are many pools at different temperatures. Starting at 98 degrees, 100, 102, 103, 104,105, 106, 107,108. I started at 98 and worked my way up to 105. That's all I could do, was getting lightheaded. I guess between the altitude and the heat. Either way it was amazing. There are chairs and chaises all around with little water falls to listen too and the most amazing meditative music. You just don't want to leave..... the music is from Pandora SPA radio, which I am listening to now. Love it!!!!

Left there around 6:30PM totally and throughly relaxed! Perfect ending to my stay in this area. I move on tomorrow to Ouray, CO. Will let you know in a few days how it is! Nite, nite!

  1. Glad you had a great visit in this beautiful area. Ouray is a neat place, and there are hot springs there as well, one with a grotto. Looks like Asher is having a great time too!
